After spending 11 years at McKinsey involved in a wide range of product and business development and brand revitalization, he served at Yahoo from 2008 and as CSO for 10 years from 2012, and has been a Senior Strategist at Z Holdings (now LINE Yahoo Japan Corporation) since 2022. He has been teaching at Keio University SFC since 2016 and has held his current position since autumn 2018. He is a board member and Skills Definition Committee Chair of the Data Scientist Association. He is also the representative of the general incorporated association, ‘A Future Worth Preserving.’ He has participated in many national committees related to science, technology, and data × AI. He holds a PhD in Neuroscience from Yale University. His publications include ‘Start with the Issue’ (Eiji Publishing), ‘Shin Nihon’ (NewsPicks), and ‘A Hope Called “Valley of the Wind”—Creating a Future Worth Preserving’ (Eiji Publishing), among others.
